About GorillaHead

GorillaHead was started in 2004 when my wife, a school teacher in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, shared a frustrating story about one student who called another student a "gorilla head." I thought, "what a great name for a company. A little paperwork later and GorillaHead, LLC was born. My name is Everett Paul Burris, but you can call me Paul. I am an artist living in Saint Cloud, Minnesota and I have drawn much of the art that you find on the site. I'm not much for writing so I work with other great people to illustrate their ideas. I hope you enjoy the comics and share the website with your friends.

Spiritman is a comic book created by Scott Allen Snyder and Everett Paul Burris about 30 years ago. We were teenagers then. We loved supehero stories and we loved God. We always saw a great metaphor in these stories for the adventure that happens when you follow Jesus. While we had fun making the Spiritman comic we lacked the skills to do it right. Eventually we went separate ways. Scott pursued play writing and I pursued drawing. One day we decided to reconnect and work on Spiritman again. This time we think we can actually pull it off.

Everett Paul Burris

Everett Paul Burris Resides in Saint Cloud, Minnesota where he works as a comic book illustrator. "When I was a kid I really wanted to be a superhero. As life goes on you learn things. I came to accept that I was not going to have super powers, but drawing super heroes would be pretty cool too."

Paul has a degree in art from Bethel University. In addition to illustrating comic books, Paul is a program director for an artist mentoring project called Portable Vision. In this program young artists are matched up with experienced mentors. Through this process life experiences are shared, art is made and a gallery show is created. Learn more about the program by visiting www.portablevision.org.
